2009-06-17 2:20 p.m. So, I made this new album. I actually recorded the album almost two years ago, and I haven't known what to do with it. Maybe it makes me feel a little too goth or something, because it's about death; not like "carve your name on my arm with a metal ruler" emo death where you put on fangs and lie around waiting to embrace the Dark Lord...but the quiet kind of death that sort of sneaks up on you and everyone you know. I asked a bunch of my friends what songs they'd want to have played at their funerals, and then I completely ignored what they said, and wrote my own music...except my songs are based on their songs, so I guess I didn't ignore them altogether. The album is called "Leaving". And I just released it on iTunes. It's got my very first cover song on it, "Don't Fence Me In," for which I had to learn to croon like a whole bathtub full of Bing Crosby's, if someone had cloned him and made him sit in a bathtub with his clones. It was very hard to play. I still can't play it, so don't ask me.
Also, before you ask, yeah, the cover doesn't really have anything to do with death, unless your idea of Heaven is a fairground populated by strong men, bearded ladies, and me tapdancing in a seersucker suit. But it does have to do with another project I've been working on, which will hopefully also be released this year. And I really hope you like the album. I like it. If you DON'T like it, this is a time for quiet, respectful silence.
