There are some feelings which are too large, too complex, too deep to describe with words. For some reason, they can only be expressed with songs.

Likewise, there are some feelings which can not be evoked with words or with thoughts. Maybe hidden, maybe forgotten, maybe locked away, maybe unborn, these feelings can not be reached through thinking or remembering or any sort of trying. These feelings � these secret parts of our selves � can only be reached with songs.

The sounds fill holes in our souls we did not know existed. We interconnect a song with an experience with a feeling with a thought with a momentary slice of time like a spider weaves its web. We define our moments by the songs that were playing. The moments become hours, then years. The years become eras and then generations. The spider's web, the tangled moments, the memories of the color of dusk or the smell of winter. And the songs. They are the soundtracks of our lives.

This is why I make music.
