I got hired to bring the photo booth up to San Francisco over the weekend to a party. It was Kathleen and Eli's birthday. The theme was Future 3000, which was something I could definitely get behind.

I barely spoke with anyone all night. There were cute girls and I wasn't up to flirting with them. There were some close guy friends, and I found myself floating away from deep conversations. Instead I just stood and watched as the partygoers shot picture after picture of themselves in the photo booth.

There was so much joy as the huge softboxes flashed over and over. POP! POP! went the lights. The future-clad party folks shot almost 900 images of themselves. (I even managed to sneak into a few of the pictures. Not many, though. I like to sit back and watch everyone else have being the center of attention. It's their chance to be in the spotlight.)

By 4 AM I was beat and had to go to sleep. I wish I had the energy to stay up all night running the photo rig. But, I just don't have it in my anymore. Being sober means pooping out when I'm tired�no enhancements to keep me up.

I can't wait to get hired to bring the photo booth to another party. It brings joy to everyone that uses it. And, that brings joy to me.
